An open, intensely aromatic, very complex nose, revealing ripe, black fruits together with notes of roasted coffee beans and toasted bread. Structured, balanced and powerful with notes of black fruits coming to the fore. The tannins of the wine are silky while those of the wood are integrated enough to help bring out the wine’s overall elegance. The finish, which is long, ends with notes of chocolate and fruit macerated in brandy.

Excellent deep red. Very sexy, expressive aromas of plum and milk chocolate. Sweet, lush and ripe, with considerable power and thrust for the vintage. Very 2003 in its slightly roasted character but this boasts very good concentration and finishes with sweet, broad tannins and excellent length. Fleshy and evolved enough to give pleasure now, but should hold up well for the next 10 to 15 years. A Margaux standout in 2003.
