Speaker Laurent Delassus, Vice President of International Sales & Marketing of Opus One

In this May, we are profoundly honoured to present an exclusive Opus One Back Vintages Wine Dinner at Macau’s iconic Two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Alain Ducasse at Morpheus.

As one of the world’s most revered wine estates embodying the perfect fusion of Napa Valley’s boldness and Bordeaux’s elegance, the famous Opus One Winery needs no further introduction. Exclusively for this evening, the winery has released some extremely rare back vintages including Opus One 1980, 1992 and 2001, alongside a 3-litre large format of 2013.

To guide us through this prestigious journey of taste, we are delighted to welcome Laurent Delassus, Vice President of International Sales & Marketing of Opus One, as our distinguished guest speaker. With his profound insights into the winery’s heritage, craftsmanship, and each vintage’s unique story, he will unravel the secrets behind Opus One’s timeless allure.

The evening will spotlight an exceptional selection of wines, carefully curated to showcase the winery’s legacy and excellence:

  • Robert Mondavi, To Kalon I Block, Fume Blanc 2022: Jeb Dunnuck 97 points, "terrific concentration, integrated yet high acidity, and a great finish".
  • Opus One 1980: Decanter 99 points, "a wonderful nuanced wine rippling with flavour".
  • Opus One 1992: Decanter 95 points, "evident power and concentration running through the body of the wine".
  • Opus One 2001: Decanter 98 points, "striking dark chocolate, black pepper and cassis fruits with great acidity to keep things raising towards the finish".
  • Opus One 2013 (3L): James Suckling 100 points, "the greatest Opus ever".
  • Chateau Coutet 1989: Wine Doctor 97 points, a Sauternes "with remarkable intense and length, firm and bright structure".

Each pour will be complemented by a bespoke menu crafted by Alain Ducasse at Morpheus. Awarded two Michelin stars, the restaurant pays homage to the great traditions and savoir-faire of French gastronomy, redefining fine dining with a contemporary vision. This is more than a wine dinner — it is an exclusive gathering of connoisseurs, a celebration of craftsmanship, and a chance to savour wines that are otherwise unattainable. Seats are extremely limited, join us for an evening of luxury, insight, and unforgettable taste.
