Chateau de Franc is a property that dates back to the 1400s. It was in the mid-1980s that two childhood friends—Dominique Hebrard, ex-co-owner of Château Cheval Blanc, and Hubert De Boüard, co-owner of Château Angelus—became enamored with this estate and decided to join forces as co-owners. They meticulously restored the property and winery, transforming this gem in the tiny Franc, Cotes de Bordeaux appellation on the right bank of the Gironde. The estate boasts nearly 90 acres of vineyards situated on the highest hills in the region. These vineyards are planted with 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, thriving in chalky clay soils. The vines, averaging 25 years of age, benefit from a dedicated and passionate team managing the property, resulting in outstanding wines that consistently exceed expectations.
