All the elements of Jonathan Maltus's style come together in the 2013 Le Dôme. A big, powerful wine, the 2011 boasts tons of depth and pure explosiveness. The 2013 is incredibly nuanced and detailed for such a big, intense wine. Mocha, plums and smoke are some of the many notes that inform the powerful, explosive finish. This is the richest and most textured of the 2013s from Jonathan Maltus, but the wine remains closed and not fully expressive. The 2013 is 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot brought in between October 8 and 17. Tasted two times.
