The 2021 Volnay Carelle 1er Cru has a touch more fruit intensity on the nose than the Clos de la Rougeotte, well defined and "transparent". The palate is very classic in style with a little dryness, nicely balanced with a touch of black pepper and lots of undergrowth on the finish.
