The 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses Iles de Vergelesses 1er Cru is lucid in color. It has a tightly packed, red-berry-fruit-driven bouquet that delivers veins of blue fruit with aeration. The fleshy, medium-bodied palate offers supple tannins, a caressing texture and plump red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit laced with white pepper on the finish. Give it two or three years in bottle.
