Maison Marchand Tawse, Corton Grand Cru

2018 {(currentVariant.size?' | ':'')} {( currentVariant.size )}
Corton, Cote de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Type Red
Grape Pinot Noir
Cellar
Grand Cru

The palate is nicely balanced and quite fleshy in the mouth, offering redcurrant and cranberry fruit, brown spices and a touch of licorice toward the finish.

Goat cheese
VEGETABLES:
Mushroom
Reviewer: Neal Martin

The 2018 Corton Grand Cru comes mainly from Regniers, de-stemmed with 25% new oak. A high-toned bouquet of blueberry and crème de cassis aromas pulls this Corton away from its terroir expression. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry, with succulent tannins. A very pleasurable Corton, although it does not quite deliver the complexity of Marchand-Tawse’s other Grand Crus this year. Four barrels produced.

about the brand
Maison Marchand Tawse

Marchand Tawse is a name to watch over in the next few decades in Burgundy, owned by native Quebecois Pascal Marchand and his Canadian fellow Moray Tawse. Pascal has a reputation as one of the finest winemakers in Burgundy. He has been receiving excellent critical recognition with Burghound’s Allen Meadows recently declaring himself very favourably impressed following a tasting in Pascal’s cellars. All of Pascal's wines are made biodynamically with a natural and sustainable viticulture practice.The team has birthed a new fusion style of wine with elegant, satiny, and aromatic burgundies that are both true to their varietal and terroir - Marchand-Tawse was born.
