The colour of Chateau Pichon Baron 2015 is intense deep garnet red. The nose is expressive and delicate, offering a wonderfully aromatic range of summer berries, black cherries and blueberries, very lightly underpinned by a toasted spiciness. The attack is mellow and the palate, like the nose, is precise and refined. Well-integrated woodiness and delicate, velvety tannins carried by ripe and generous fruit. The finish is juicy and precise. There is overall opulence and denseness from start to finish. This wine is harmonious, with an impressive balance between the fruit and the delicate tannins.

A dramatic, sweeping wine, the Pichon-Longueville Baron is even better from bottle than it was from barrel. The 2015 is dense, plush and totally voluptuous as it sweeps across the palate to make its presence known. Nuanced and poised, with seemingly endless layers of nuance, the 2015 is super-impressive. A melange of dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, mint, spice and rose petal builds as this towering, dramatic Pauillac shows off its allure. In 2015, Pichon Baron is endowed with spectacular balance and class. This is quite simply a brilliant showing from the 2015.
