The 2018 Volnay Les Champans 1er Cru is one of the best releases from Girardin this vintage: well defined on the nose with attractive blackberry, raspberry and sous-bois aromas, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine line of acidity with an elegant finish that fans out gently. Very fine. - Neal Martin
