We are proud to introduce Giant Steps – an exclusive new addition to Omtis’ portfolio, hailing from the renowned Yarra Valley, Australia. As a distinguished member of the prestigious Jackson Family Wines, Giant Steps stands alongside celebrated global labels including Verite and Lokoya. The estate has been a global benchmark for expressive cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir since its founding by Phil Sexton in the late 1990s. It was named Winery of the Year 2025 by the Halliday Wine Companion, and has claimed over 50 trophies and 100 gold medals at leading international wine shows. A testament to its enduring excellence, Giant Steps is also featured in Wine & Spirits’ Top 100 Wineries for 5 consecutive years.

Giant Steps has reached new heights and earned consistent 96+ scores from critics worldwide under the leadership of Melanie Chester. As Head of Winemaking & Viticulture and General Manager, she is a talented winemaker who won the Young Winemaker of the Year in 2015 and the Young Gun of Wine ‘People’s Choice’ award, and was the youngest ever winemaker appointed to the Wine Victoria Board.

Anchored in Melanie’s terroir-driven winemaking philosophy, its wines shine with exceptional purity, textured complexity and vibrant energy. The estate features a few distinctive expressions:

  • Circle of Fifths Chardonnay and Pinot Noir unite the character of Giant Steps’ five iconic single vineyard sites in a cohesive, fresh expression.
  • Primavera Vineyard Pinot Noir is crafted in limited quantity. The clonal diversity and the vineyard’s red volcanic soil combine to create the wine’s signature perfumed aroma and intense flavour.
  • Sexton Vineyard is Giant Steps’ quintessential single vineyard. Located on the north-facing slope of Warramate Ranges, it possesses the ideal conditions for cool-climate, traditional-style Pinot Noir which was awarded Australia’s Best Wine.
  • Applejack Vineyard is an award-winning single vineyard whose Pinot Noir recently ranked #1 in Wine Enthusiast’s Top 100 Wines and earned Halliday Wine Companion Pinot Noir of the Year for 2 years consecutively.
