The 2016 Alain Michelot Nuits-Saint-Georges Blanc 1er Cru En La Perriere Noblot is deeper in color than I would expect given its age. The nose has a struck match note that gets in the way of the honeyed beeswax aromas. The palate has a lot of weight but lacks tension, and comes across slightly ripe (possibly with a bit of botrytis). Though there is good length, this is a white Nuits-Saint-Georges that I would drink in the near future. Tasted at La Popettes in Beaune.
