Exploring the Grands Crus of Burgundy with Domaine Henri Rebourseau

Domaine Henri Rebourseau comprises 13,5 hectares of vineyard stretching in the grands crus from the villages of Gevrey Chambertin to Vougeot which can trace back to 1778. It is the family belief that “earth is entrusted to humankind; every one of us holds its future in our hands.” Therefore, the winemakers of the Domaine took upon themselves the responsibility to manage, develop and maintain the vineyards that their ancestors have passed down. The Domaine employs only traditional cultivation methods, combining 100% organic winegrowing with biodynamic practices. In 2018, Martin and Olivier Bouygues, the telecom moguls and the owners of Chateau Montrose recognised the potential of the Domaine, acquired a major stake in Domaine Henri Rebourseau. We firmly believe that with the new partnership, Domaine Henri Rebourseau will continue to grow and expand. Prior to the 2017 vintage, Domaine Henri Rebourseau used to supply finished wines to the top 10 biggest names in Burgundy. Ever since the acquisition by the Bouygues Brothers, Domaine Henri Rebourseau has completely stopped supplying for other wineries and started to bottle all its great wines under its own label, which would be great to drink and to hold!

There is another interesting information that I wish to share with you. The wines from Henri Rebourseau are always being compared with those from the top producers in Burgundy even in the old days. Please find attached a wine list from one of the top UK merchants during the 1930s showing the Rebourseau wines are being featured and listed with Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, producer of today’s most expensive Burgundy wines in the world. There was a blind tasting conducted earlier this year, comparing Henri Rebourseau with some of the biggest names in Burgundy including Armand Rousseau! Henri Rebourseau wines performed very well against these top producers. Please find below a price comparison of Henri Rebourseau and another comparable renowned Burgundy producers achieving the closest scores (out of 10) at the tasting. Prices of Henri Rebourseau wines are our retail list prices while those of other producers are average prices available in the market. Considering Henri Rebourseau back vintage wines are ex-domaine library release with pristine provenance of which other back vintage wines available in the market cannot match, we are certainly delivering additional value to our clients!
