Chateau Pajzos

The Tokaj wine region has belonged to the UNESCO World Heritage since 2002. Wines created here have a distinct minerality and a wonderful acidity. In the 16th century, Tokaji wines became the favoured drink at the royal Hungarian court and the ruling families of Europe. Louis XIVth also regarded it as simply the “king of wines”. On this south-, southwest-facing land of Pajzos Vineyard with excellent attributes, the ground has excellent heat-retaining properties with grapes ripen beautifully and become supreme aszú berries. Thanks to the humidity of that area, Botrytis is developed with lovely characteristics.

Domaine de Cristia

Established by Etienne Grangeon in the 1950s, Domaine de Cristia originally started with just over two hectares of Grenache which grew under the leadership of Alain, his son, who joined the estate in 1963. Passionate about viticulture, he notably contributed to the expansion of the estate by planting more grape varieties such as Syrah and Mourvedre and thus creating the Cristia identity, based on his knowledge and respect for its predominantly sandy soils. Baptiste and Dominique, who were dubbed the “new superstars of Chateauneuf du Pape” by the Wine Advocate, joined their father in 1999, with the priority to produce high quality wines. Today, the three generations of winegrowers share their passion and their know-how on the 42 hectares of land, covering appellations of Chateauneuf du Pape, Cotes du Rhone Villages, Crozes Hermitage etc. Their oldest Grenache vines are over 100 years old, while their Syrah and Mourvedre are on average 55 years of age.
